Making Your Mark

Branding is such an important part of advertising whether it's for your books, or your home-based business, or for a corporate mega-chain. It's important that people identify with the 'company' not necessarily the product only unless the company is so specialized that it only sells one product. For writers it's important for people to identify with YOU not the one book you happen to be recently plugging--unless you feel you will never write/publish another. It's a common mistake I see often enough when writer's market their work, they market a single title alone. Think broader when you create your flyers, bookmarks, and even ad blurbs for online use--create a slogan that covers your style, not one book's theme and use that in your campaigning. Get people use to hearing your name. It's your name you want them looking for over and over, not the title to just one book.
