YMT Vacations for Two?

I just got back from a small weekend vacation a week and a half ago, and I'm planning on going back there for my birthday in June, but that is a nearby spot, someplace close, very nice, but nothing really 'exotic' or 'new' when it come to locations. What I really want to do is go someplace I've never been, and is really different from where I live and I have been searching and searching for the perfect getaway for winter.

Winter seems like the best time to go someplace new. Who wants to stay in Illinois in the winter? Not me... although I always have, now since I'm able to take some vacations seems like the perfect time to finally get out of the cold and snow and go someplace exotic.

Now I'd LOVE to go to Paris. That would be a fantastic getaway and definately exotic, romantic and different. YMT vacations has fantastic travel packages to Paris too but that may be a little much for a winter vacation for me. Someday though. However, YMT vacations also has some very easy to incorporate and afford vacations to exotic vacations to Hawaii and Alaska--both very possible.
Now the kicker for that will be choosing. A lot more difficult that you might think since Alaska has always been my husband's dream vacation, and Hawaii has always been mine. Hum. Seperate YMT vacations maybe?

I Need New Glasses

Needing to take off my glasses to read things is getting aggravating, and even without my glasses there are many things I can't read. I've needed a new pair for about a year now and I keep putting off getting new ones. Glasses are so expensive but thankfully shopping online for them is easier than driving around hoping to find the frames that look good and are affordable, plus you can get a lot of great deals at eyeglasses.com. Eyeglasses.com has thousands of frames for great prices including designer names like Ralph Lauren, Fendi, Georgio Armani and more.

Picking a pair of glasses is hard but if you know the style you want buying them online lets you see all of the various types available laid out on a page to compare. I like these best. They're not designer but they look like they are. They're called 'Baby Phat' and I especially like the little detail on the sides.
I like the Moto M+ above too although they are men's glasses. Maybe my husband could get those. He needs a pair too.

One More To Go

The Biggest Loser has one more show before the current season finale. I still enjoy that show for both the inspiration and the anticipation of who will win. While it has some aspects of other reality shows what I like is that it is as much based on success of actual work than simple random who hates who or wants who off, inside bickering etc. There was some of that though in a rather nasty little father/son play on someone who got kicked off last week, but that's the game I guess.

Real Life Inspiration--Carl Sgro

Certain movies, and TV shows like mentioned below can be very inspirational, but they are disconnected from reality, even when they are reality TV. Even better inspiration comes from everyday examples of people who do what you aspire to do with style and with responsibility. Carl Sgro is such a person. He is a successful businessman who helps companies overcome unfair representation on the Internet and other media. His inspiration, however comes from more than simply his 25 years of experience and successful career. Carl Sgro is an inspiration personally as someone who uses his love and passion for fishing to help others.

Mr. Sgro is a talented Bass fisherman and fishes up and down the Atlantic shoreline from Maine all the way to Florida but what makes him truly shine is founding the 'Take a Kid Fishing' foundation. By helping kids who would otherwise not get a chance to get out and experience the thrill of fishing and the beauty of nature and open water he does what really makes me inspired--helps others, not just himself. It shows in the work Carl Sgro does and it shows in his life. That is what I aspire to.

Biggest Loser

The Biggest Loser is on again tonight. It's winding down and there are only a few more contestants left. It is one of my favorite shows, and I do not normally like reality TV for two reasons. The first reason I don't like them is as a writer they take away from screenwriter's jobs, but the other reason is that most of them are just silly and argumentative for no other reason than to be arguing and mean. The Biggest Loser, however, has a purpose. It is educational for the viewer in how to get in shape and be healthy, and it is great inspiration to watch the contestants whittle down from seemingly impossible sizes. The end results are quite astounding. I know some past contestants (even winners like in season 2) have gained much or all of the weight back, but there are those that haven't and they are really inspiring.

Getting Really Clean

I've been on a health kick for a couple years now and just recently this year decided to look into colon cleansing. At first I wasn't sure how safe the products were until I read the Colonix reviews online and how the natural ingredients are safe, and actually work. I've been doing it myself for months now and there is a huge difference in the way you feel. I like the fact that all the information is so easily found online. I don't think I would have ever done it if I couldn't find it that way. I know it shouldn't matter but I think that's one thing I'd feel really uncomfortable asking a doctor about.

Relaxing Views

I'm all rested up and back to work. Well work full-time. I actually was surprised at how much I was able to do while on vacation and still enjoy the time spent at the resort. I was in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Here's a picture of the view from the restaurant in the hotel. We also had a private patio off our room and the view was awesome trees and landscaping, but couldn't really see the lake from our room.

Sunny Southern California

Talk this weekend while on vacation eventually turned inevitably to where I'd like to go next on vacation (which of course would include Bob) and I said California just as he said Alaska--I guess you can see that opposites really do attract. I am not sure a San Diego hotel could beat where we were this weekend but I can't wait to find out. So many hotels now have the full spa, pool w/whirlpool, sauna, steam room, and weight rooms that finding a luxury hotel is pretty easy. I want to see sunny Southern California next so I think San Diego is the perfect place to start.

Workaholic

I was talking with Bob on the way home from my wonderful vacation this weekend (yeah, I went on vacation, woo hoo) and about how working from home as a writer has so many advantages but the reason so many people fail at it is it takes a lot of discipline to make yourself do the work. It is a job after all, and at times it isn't interesting or fun, at least not as much as TV, or friends. So it is too easy to get distracted, or find something more fun to do instead of sitting down and doing the work. I'm lucky enough that way. I'm a workaholic. I even did some work while on vacation. LOL Although I did vow to make myself relax (and I did).

The Soft Side of Mother's Day Flowers

I don't know why but I have never used traditional holiday's in my work to help add atmosphere, life, or feel to the story. With Mother's Day swooping in fast and furious I am suddenly realizing what a mistake that is. There are so many great, romantic holiday's that would work to add to the stories, even if it's just a little mention of some guy who seemed perfectly callous sending Mother's Day flowers to his mom and getting caught dialing 1800flowers by a surprised woman who had given up on him as un-salvageable.

Of course, there are more obvious gift giving holidays that she could catch him in the act with, but too obvious doesn't work well. Mother's Day flowers not only shows he has a soft side but there is something very special about remembering mom.
Then again, a smart man would come bearing roses to really melt the heroine's heart.

SIC

I'm sitting here watching the first season of "Sex in the City". That's right, I'm probably the only woman in the country that did not get caught up in the series when it was first on HBO. However, having seen the movie a few weeks ago, that was essentially a cap-off of the series I fell in love and had to see the whole 'back story' so off I went to Netflix and clicked madly on all the seasons. Well I can only get three disks at a time so I had to settle for season 1 and the first part of season 2 to start with. When I return those I can get 3 more of the multitude of disks that make up the six season show I missed out on. Man, I'm loving it. I missed a good thing. Where was I--under a writing rock I suppose. Fic Lit may be dead, but this series is a classic of the genre that will live forever.

Is The Law On Your Side?

If you are a thrills and speed junky and love motorcycles the way my husband does you really need to look up good motorcycle accident attorneys. It almost seems a given, and motorcycles are just prone to accidents, even if the rider is not a risk-taker. Other drivers do not treat motorcyclists with much respect. They're harder to see too and it's easy to be cut off. A good attorney will make sure you get compensated for other people's lack of consideration or attention.

Biggest Loser

I love this show, and it's been on for 8 or 9 weeks now. I felt really bad last night for the girl that got sent home, basically it was a matter of her having hurt herself and not being able to keep up anymore. She's been doing so well until this week. I hope she keeps going when she gets home. Her partner is still on the show, her friend who is one of the leading women going strong in the house.
