Perfect Living

I've often thought that a great retirement home (and yes, we're getting to that point where we think about that) would be a sort of Hemmingwayesque type of place. Living on a farm in rural Illinois isn't quite it. There's something about the flatness, and open prairie type atmosphere that doesn't allow for the same kind of feel. Plus, anywhere in Northern Illinois, even rural areas, are impacted by the Chicago effect. We've looked at Branson homes for sale and my SIL lives in the area so we've visited it often enough, and that is what I would truely consider to be a Hemmingwayesque sort of existance. Yet, even with it's mountains, forests, and truly breath-taking splendor you have the city of Branson to give you the comfort of a real 'home-town' with all the entertainment benefits of any big city. It's the perfect place to retire.
